All Trenching & Boring Services has installed underground electrical conduits throughout Melbourne for projects including commercial and industrial installations for new and existing premises, local council projects, public lighting, road and freeway construction and infrastructure upgrades for power companies.
These projects require VEDN accreditation and include installation of conduits for Low Voltage (LV) and High Voltage (HV) cables including feeds to substations.
Some of the underground electrical conduit installation projects done by All Trenching & Boring Services include.
Coolaroo Zone Substation for Jemena
Installation of conduits to the new Coolaroo Zone Substation in Somerton, both internal to the substation and for 22Kv cables from surrounding areas into the substation. At a later stage additional conduits were installed from the substation along Somerton Road.
Challenges involved boring in rock using horizontal directional drilling under Pascoe Vale Road and Somerton Road and trenching along busy industrial and commercial roads. Accurate Services Location was crucial because existing services included a large diameter water main and a high pressure fuel line in Somerton Road. Extensive traffic management was also required.
Preston Stage 3: Upgrade of Preston Zone Substation area
The project covered major civil works for the upgrade, from 6Kv to 22Kv, of the electrical distribution for the Preston area. This required accurate services location, extraction of rock and boring under the railway at Munro Street, traffic management, reinstatement of roads and footpaths and liaison with council and local residents
The project included trenching and boring for installation of conduits for HV cables. Location of existing services by the use of electronic location, “Dial Before You Dig” plans and Non-destructive Digging.
Williamstown Cricket Ground
Installation of power to the recently upgraded Williamstown Cricket Ground for Jemena and the Local council, included installation of a new substation and conduits for HV cables within the cricket ground and neighbouring streets, which required both trenching and under road boring.
Defence Force Projects
Trenching and Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and pit installation was involved for projects at several Defence Force bases including Simpson Army Barracks, HMAS Cerberus, Point Cook RAAF Air Force Base, Point Wilson Naval Facility and Puckapunyal Military Training Facility. These projects involved major works to upgrade underground power to new and existing buildings.
